FAQ on IPO
Why are IPOs important?
An IPO is an important milestone in any business, as it symbolizes the growth and development of the company in many ways. In addition, it provides the company with access to the public capital market and increases its credibility and exposure.
How to evaluate IPO?
There are several factors that can influence the calculation of a company’s share price during an IPO. Probably the biggest of these is public demand for the company’s shares during the subscription period. If demand is high, the share price will rise; if not, the share price will fall. Another important aspect that could work against the IPO share price is the company’s expected growth, as the reason for a company going public is usually to raise money for expansion.
What are the stages of IPO?
1. IPO Underwriter
The first step for a company before going public is to select an investment bank that will provide advisory and underwriting services. The bank will then help the company set an initial price, purchase shares from the issuing company, and subsequently sell them to investors.
2. Due Diligence
The company’s shares will then have to go through a process called Due Diligence, which means they must undergo an extensive and thorough review that examines the company’s financial records, history, etc.
3. IPO
Once all documents are approved, the company will begin selling and advertising its IPO to let the public know about the planned date. This will help generate buzz around the company’s IPO and may help influence the underwriting and, therefore, the price of the company’s shares.
Why should I buy IPO stocks?
Many believe that IPO shares are a good investment because the initial price is often low and may increase over time.
