Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners launched an initial public offering on Monday and the company’s new shares are likely to be traded on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange as early as Friday, 26 April 2024.
If so, it would be the largest private equity firm to list on the stock exchange since the beginning of 2022. CVC would also become the second most valuable listed private equity firm in Europe after Sweden’s EQT.

In addition to its own profits, it holds large stakes in many major companies such as the Six Nations rugby club and the Lipton tea brand. It also has a number of subsidiaries, including Petco, Rayner, Fidelis and the Spanish football league La Liga.
The company hopes to raise further funds to support its growth through new acquisitions by floating on the stock market.
What we know about Friday’s IPO
This is not the first time CVC has tried to go public. Historically, it has attempted to IPO twice before, pulling out due to military conflicts between Russia and Ukraine and Israel and Gaza.
With its latest public offering, the company hopes to reach a market capitalization of up to €15 billion ($16 billion). It will offer shares in a price range of €13 to €15 apiece, which will trade on the Euronext Amsteram exchange under the symbol “CVC” from this Friday. If we still want to buy shares in the IPO, we have to move. It was launched on Monday, April 22 and will only run until 2 p.m. CET on Thursday.
In total, CVC Capital Partners would like to sell up to 114 million shares, of which 18 million will be brand new securities and the remaining 96 million will come from the hands of existing shareholders.
